As a part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, BAGHLAN GROUP supports Baku Football Club-the challenger for first places in the national championship and the first football club in Azerbaijan to sign contracts with foreign players from leading clubs of Brazil and Argentina. Baku Football Club plays in the Azerbaijan Premier League and has won two Azerbaijan Premier League championships in 2005 and 2008 and three Azerbaijan Cups in 2004/2005, 2009/2010, 2010/2011 and thus, became one of ambitious clubs within the country.

Starting from 2008, Baku Football Club initiated work on establishment and further development of its infrastructure. In 2010, the Coaching Center was put into operation and Baku Football Academy was established. On September 8, 2011 the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan visited Baku Football Club Coaching Center. Having praised the work done, the Head of State noted that Baku Football Club serves as a brilliant example for other clubs.

Baku Football Club devotes special attention to the implementation of social projects. Club regularly visits children deprived of parental care, donates gifts for orphaned children to bring joy to the lives of those who are in need.

Baku Football Club initiated special Football Fan Club aimed to provide children from low-income families with tickets and Club’s attributes free-of charge. The number of children benefiting from this initiative reaches 2000 within season.

Furthermore, Baku Football Club developed package of proposals for football fans who suffer from congenital or acquired disabilities. Football fans with disabilities are provided with transport means and tickets free of charge.

Baku Football Club Academy is guided by the same principles. Young footballers of the Academy are provided with breakfast and lunch. The number of persons benefiting from free meal reaches 10 000 a month.

Baku Football Club greatly contributed to successful completion of FIFA U-17 Women World Cup Azerbaijan 2012. Participating countries’ national teams were practicing at stadiums of Baku Football Club Coaching Center for the period of 5 weeks.

Members of national teams from countries such as France, Ghana, USA, Germany, North Korea, Sweden, Brazil, Canada, China, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Nigeria, Uruguay, Columbia, Gambia and Azerbaijan highly appreciated high quality administrative arrangements and modern infrastructure of Club. Baku Football Club Coaching Centre hosted total of 68 training sessions during 35 days.

FIFA President, Joseph S. Blatter highly praised contribution of world championship carried out in Azerbaijan to the development of women football and highlighted that the event hosted by Azerbaijan was one of the best examples of FIFA women tournaments worldwide.

Currently, 500 adolescents and youths penetrate the secrets of football in Baku Football Club. Experienced experts from Turkey guide them in this work.
In 2011, in order to develop Club’s coaching center, the second stage of reconstruction work was commenced. As a result, 4 new football grounds were constructed and put into operation.

In 2012 Baku Football Club’s foreign relations was expanded furthermore. Baku Football Club entered into Cooperation Agreement with Spanish Club Atlético de Madrid and French Lans Club. This initiative enabled young and promising Azeri footballers to get practice and play in countries such as Spain and France.

Baku Football Club’s traditional kit is a white and blue shirt, white shorts with grey socks. Baku Football Club’s current logo is a popular Maiden Tower, the most magnificent and mysterious landmark of Baku that has no analogues in entire Orient and is considered an unofficial symbol of Baku and one of Azerbaijan's most distinctive emblems.
